Monday, 03 October 2016 23:24:32 (GMT+3)   |   Sao Paulo

Venezuelan state-run steelmaker Sidor announced late last week it resumed output at its hot rolling mill. The restart of the equipment is part of a company’s ongoing plan to increase crude steel capacity to 4 million mt by 2018.

Sidor said the hot rolling equipment is expected to supply HRC for the automotive, civil construction and infrastructure segments, among others.

Sidor’s crude steel output should initially reach 50,000 mt/month, but then increase to 80,000 mt/month and to 100,000 mt/month by the end of 2016.
