Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $900/mt, against $890/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In December, Brazil exported 66,300 mt and imported 68,400 mt of HRC.
The main destinations of the exports were Europe (41,500 mt at $686/mt), South America (16,800 mt at $588/mt) and the US (8,000 mt at $584/mt), and the exporters were ArcelorMittal (36,800 mt at $565/mt), CSN (24,100 mt at $782/mt), and Usiminas (5,400 mt at $622/mt).
The imports came from Asia (58,000 mt at $562/mt) and South America (10,300 mt at $425/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,500/mt ($1,125/mt), against BRL 5,400/mt one month ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
