Brazilian HRC export price increases slightly in two weeks

Monday, 29 April 2024 20:49:24 (GMT+3)   |   Sao Paulo

Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $860/mt, against $850/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,300/mt ($1,037/mt), stable from two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included, with indications that planed price rises were temporarily cancelled, while the effect of the recently approved system of quotas for import and higher import taxes is under evaluation by players.

In March, Brazil exported 22,200 mt of HRC, in average at $681/mt, while imported 77,800 mt of the product at $576/mt, both FOB conditions.
