Mexican HRC prices see a slight upswing

Mexican HRC prices increased US$3/mt in the last two weeks to settle at US$738/mt ex-mill.

The usual reduction in activity during the summer could influence prices to remain level, sources say, and they are surprised that prices have in fact increased.

Although auto manufacturing in Mexico is still strong, there is still a shortage of suppliers that meet the demand of OEMs who recently arrived to the country, a Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry source said.
