Reference price for Brazilian slabs exports declines slightly

Tuesday, 17 December 2024 19:09:58 (GMT+3)   |   Sao Paulo

The Brazilian producers are negotiating slabs exports at $535/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

Such price compares to $540/mt last week, remaining in a range of $530/mt to 540/mt since August 5.

This price range remains framed by increased domestic demand for steel products and reduced availability of material for export, due to operational problems at CSN and a temporary reduction of production at the Tubarão plant of ArcelorMittal.

According to sources, small price increases over the next weeks are being considered.

In December, the Brazilian sabs exports are expected to increase in volume from the 229,300 mt exported in November.
