The reference price for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers is now $920/mt, against $990/mt one month ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In March, Brazil exported 49,000 mt and imported 2,500 mt of rebar, against respectively 20,000 mt and 8,700 mt in February.
The exports in March were destined to South American countries (43,600 mt at $706/mt), to Puerto Rico (5,000 mt at $791/mt) and to Jamaica (400 mt at $610/mt), FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in January 2023.
The exporters were Gerdau (24,700 mt at $690/mt) and ArcelorMittal (24,300 mt at $739/mt).
The import tonnage was entirely from Peru (2,500 mt at $657/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 6,100/mt ($1,206/mt), against BRL 6,500/mt one month ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
