The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is now $800/mt, against $815/mt four weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In September, Brazil exported 22,100 mt and imported 27,900 mt of rebar, against respectively 16,600 mt and 26,800 mt in August.
The exports were from ArcelorMittal (21,500 mt at $727/mt), Gerdau (500 mt at $620/mt) and Simec (100 mt at $693/mt), all FOB conditions and destined to South American countries.
The imports were from Egypt (17,200 mt at $625/mt), Peru (5,600 mt at $706/mt) and Turkey (5,100 mt at $617/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,350/mt ($1,059/mt), stable in BRL from four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
