The reference price Brazilian rebar exports is $870/mt, stable from four weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In December, Brazil exported 33,000 mt and imported 19,600 mt of rebar, against respectively 24,500 mt 13,900 mt in November.
The exports in December were destined to South American countries (27,700 mt at $648/mt) and to Porto Rico (5,300 mt at $640/mt), shipped by Gerdau (20,500 mt at $617/mt) and ArcelorMittal (12,500 mt at $696/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports were from Russia (17,000 mt at $543/mt) and Turkey (2,600 mt at $571/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,600/mt ($1,252/mt), against BRL 5,700/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
