US import rebar offer ranges are still strong this week due to international price trends, but sources say interest remains weak going into the holiday season, as many buyers look ahead to the New Year for new large purchases.

Offers from Egypt are relatively stable week-on-week at $40.00-$41.00 cwt. ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports, although sources say offers will likely be higher once January rolls around. Offers from Algeria, meanwhile, are currently on hold due to a reported mill outage in the region, but once available again, offers are expected to come in higher than the previous reported range of $39.00-$40.00 cwt. ($860-$882/mt or $780-$800/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.

Additionally, US import rebar offers from Mexico are still around $40.00-$41.00 cwt. ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt) DDP Houston, and also expected to rise in the next few weeks.
