With international rebar prices still rising, US import rebar offers are continuing to trend strong. However, even with US domestic prices also on the rise, interest in booking imports remains muted for now. Sources tell SteelOrbis that booking activity is expected to be robust after the New Year, and import rebar prices will most likely continue inching upward until then.

For now, US import rebar offers are generally up another $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) week-on-week. Offers from Egypt are now trending at $40.00-$41.00 cwt. ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports, while offers from Algeria are now at $39.00-$40.00 cwt. ($860-$882/mt or $780-$800/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. Offers from Mexico are now at $40.00-$41.00 cwt. ($882-$904/mt or $800-$820/nt) DDP Houston.
