ArcelorMittal Ghent commissions its modernized converter

ArcelorMittal Ghent in Belgium has successfully commissioned the converter modernized by German plant supplier SMS Siemag, according to schedule.
 
With the latest modernization, the specific volume of the converter will be increased by about 15 percent, according to a statement by SMS Siemag.
 
ArcelorMittal Ghent is an integrated iron and steel plant which produces approximately five million metric tons per year of carbon steel flat products, mainly for the automotive industry.
