US exports of plates in coil down 5.5 percent in October from September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 34,915 mt in October this year, down 5.5 percent month on month and up 34.1 percent year on year. By value, exports of plates in coil totaled $35 million in October, compared to $40.1 million in the previous month and $23.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in October with 26,801 mt, compared to 25,943 mt in September and 14,738 mt in October last year. The other top destination was Canada with 7,804 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) US exports of plates in coil in October.
