The automotive production (cars, trucks and buses) in Brazil reached 189,200 units in June, 17.0 percent less than in May and 7.1 percent less than in June 2022.
Domestic sales reached 189,500 units in June, 7.4 percent more than in May and 6.4 percent more than in June 2022.
Conversely, exports in June declined from May 2023 and From June 2022, respectively by 17.4 percent and 22.6 percent.
According to Marcio de Lima Leite, president of the sector association Anfavea, the domestic sales in July are expected to show a sharp increase from June, as a significant number of units, negotiated in June under the government tax credit program, will be registered as sales in July.
During the first six months of the year, automotive production in Brazil reached 1.132 million units, a 3.7 percent increase on yearly basis, while domestic sales increased by 8.8 percent to 998,600 units and exports declined by 7.7 percent to 227,200 units.
