The automotive production (cars, trucks and buses) in Brazil has reached 236,100 units in November, against 249,100 units in October, according to the sector association Anfavea.
On the same comparative basis, domestic sales declined by 4.3 percent to 253,500 units and exports declined by 9.7 percent to 39,300 units.
When compared to November 2023, production in November 2024 increased by 16.5 percent, domestic sales increased by 19.2 percent and exports increased by 63.4 percent.
For the January-November period of 2024, production increased from the same period in 2023 by 9.6 percent to 2.359 million units, domestic sales increased by 15.4 percent to 2.377 million units and exports declined by 3.0 percent to 366,700 units.
According to Anfavea president Márcio de Lima Leite, the Brazilian automotive industry is expected to close 2024 with a raise in domestic sales of 15 percent from 2023, placing the country, in terms of domestic sales increase, as the first among the ten largest global automotive markets.
