Monday, 23 December 2024 19:28:56 (GMT+3)   |   Sao Paulo

In November, Brazil exported 112,192 mt of finished steel products at $93,978 million and imported 248,937 mt at $184,192 million, according to customs.

This compares to exports of 97,064 mt at $82,300 million and imports of 386,269 mt at $286,872 million in October.

Considering the first eleven months of 2024, exports have reached 1.364 million mt at $ 1.173 billion and imports have reached 3.385 million mt at $2.597 billion.

Coated flat products were the main items imported in September, representing 35 percent of the total, while rebars were the main item exported, representing 47 percent of the total.

In volume, the Brazilian steel balance deficit has declined from 289,205 mt in October to 136,744 mt in November.

Such deficit is expected to decline further during the first quarter of 2025, reflecting the impact of the system of quotas for imports established by the local foreign trade authorities.
