Brazil's motor vehicle output down 6.4% in August from July

Brazil's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) in August this year decreased by 6.4 percent from the previous month and fell by 18.4 percent year on year to 177,726 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) declined by 20 percent year on year to 1,383,136 units.
 
New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 183,890 units in August this year, up 1.4 percent compared to July and decreasing by 11.3 percent year on year. In the first eight months, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 23 percent year on year to 1,348,834 units. 
 
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in August this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 40,191 units, decreasing by 11.8 percent compared to the previous month and up 16.7 percent year on year. In the January-August period of this year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 312,396 units, up 19.6 percent year on year.
