Canada concludes expiry review on carbon welded steel pipe from China

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced that it has concluded the expiry review against the antidumping and countervailing duties on certain carbon welded steel pipe from China.

On February 19 this year, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) had initiated an expiry review of the antidumping and countervailing duties on the given product, as SteelOrbis reported previously.

The CBSA has determined that the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of such goods from China.

The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its order is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and will issue its decision no later than December 24, 2024.

Also, the CBSA will issue a statement of reasons within 15 days.

The products under review currently fall under Harmonized System (HS) tariff classification numbers 7306.30.00.10, 7306.30.00.20 and 7306.30.00.30.
