Canadian iron ore production declines 2.4 percent in May

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 5,333,451 mt of iron ore concentrates in May, down 2.4 percent from April and down 11.7 percent from May 2022.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 3,941,244 mt of iron ore concentrates in May, up 23.9 percent from April and up 41.7 percent from May 2022.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 7,708,702 mt in May, compared to 7,813,979 mt in April and 8,480,120 mt in May 2022.
