According to Statistics Canada, new motor vehicle sales in August 2023 totaled 158,531 units, reflecting an increase of 12.6 percent month-on-month and an increase of 9.5 percent year-on-year. By value, Canadian vehicle sales in August totaled $8.82 billion, compared to $8.15 billion in July and $7.38 billion in August 2022.
Canadian sales of vehicles manufactured in North America totaled 114,053 units in August at a value of $6.54 billion, while sales of vehicles manufactured overseas totaled 44,478 units at a value of $2.28 billion.
