China’s finished steel exports up 6.4 percent in January-May

In May this year, China exported 9.42 million mt of finished steel, up 3.74 percent month on month and increasing by 2.4 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-May period totaled 46.28 million mt, up 6.4 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on June 8.

In May this year, China exported 570,000 mt of metallurgical coke, down 120,000 mt or 17.39 percent month on month and decreasing by 53.66 percent year on year. In the January-May period, China’s coke exports totaled 4.00 million mt, decreasing by 4.4 percent year on year.
