The Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association has released figures on China's stainless crude steel output in 2013.
1) In 2013, China's stainless crude steel output totaled 18.716 million mt, up 16.34 percent or 2.629 million mt year on year. The details are as follows:

2) China imported 775,000 mt of stainless steel in 2013, up 3,900 mt or 0.55 percent year on year; while its stainless steel exports totaled 2.653 million mt, up 589,000 mt or 28.54 percent over the previous year.
3) Stainless steel apparent consumption in China in 2013 amounted to 14.592 million mt, up 1.727 million mt or 13.43 percent compared with the previous year.
4) China's self-sufficiency in stainless steel supply reached 94.69 percent in 2013, with an increase of 0.69 percentage points year on year.
