CSC’s steel sales down 6.1 percent in April from March

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in April this year its carbon steel sales volume decreased by 6.1 percent to 957,813 metric tons compared to March, accounting for 63 percent of domestic sales.  During the first four months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 3.66 million mt, accounting for 69 percent of domestic sales.
 
In April, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 22.88 billion ($699.6 million), decreasing by 7.4 percent month on month. In the given month, the company registered income before tax of NTD 1.55 billion ($47.36 million), compared to an income before tax of NTD 899 million in the previous month.
