Taiwan’s CSC posts lower operating revenues for H1

Taiwan’s largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in June this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 647,556 metric tons, while in the January-June period its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 3.85 million mt.

In June, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 30.21 billion ($968.18 million), down by 7.7 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating loss totaled NTD 158.45 million ($5.07 million), compared to a NTD 808.5 million income recorded in the previous month.

In the January-June period this year, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 186.7 billion ($5.98 billion), decreasing by 24.9 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 1.41 billion ($45.24 million), compared to a NTD 26.24 billion operating income recorded in the same period last year.
