Danieli to supply a new SBQ mill to Acciaierie Venete

Friday, 31 March 2017 13:42:13 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply a special bar quality (SBQ) rolling mill for Italian steel group Acciaierie Venete’s plant in Padua, Italy in order to produce SBQ round bars from 18 mm to 82.5 mm, and in the future flat bars and hexagons from 30 to 60 mm.

Danieli stated that the new automation system of the mill will provide Acciaierie Venete with total production control from liquid steel up to the finished product, facilitating the production of small steel lots and frequent size changes to quickly satisfy the requests of customers.

In addition, thanks to its rolling-drawing capability, the mill will be able to produce ready-to-use hot rolled bars without the need of downstream peeling operations.
