EU to continue collecting AD duty on Chinese stainless seamless pipes

Tuesday, 06 March 2018 17:18:57 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

The European Commission (EC) has announced that it has decided to impose a definitive antidumping (AD) duty on imports of certain seamless pipes and tubes of stainless steel originating in China following the expiry review initiated in December 2016 upon the complaint filed by the European Steel Tube Association (ESTA).

As a result of the expiry review, the European Commission concluded that the repeal of the measures would in all likelihood result in a significant increase of Chinese dumped imports at prices undercutting the EU industry prices, therefore further aggravating the injury suffered by the EU industry. As a consequence, the viability of the EU industry would be at serious risk.

The definitive antidumping duty rates range between 48.3 percent and 71.9 percent.

The products in question currently falls within CN codes 7304 11 00, 7304 22 00, 7304 24 00, ex 7304 41 00, 7304 49 10, ex 7304 49 93, ex 7304 49 95, ex 7304 49 99 and ex 7304 90 00.
