France's steel product import value down 8.8 percent in January

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in January this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €587.9 million, decreasing by 8.8 percent year on year.
 
During the month in question, France imported €112.2 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 5.3 percent, €38.6 million of cold rolled steel strip - falling by 8.9 percent, €31.2 million of cold drawn wire - decreasing by 3.8 percent, €25.9 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 22.6 percent, and €101.4 million of metal structures and parts - declining by 2.2 percent, all compared to the January last year.
