Indian coking coal import port traffic up 8% in April-June

Indian coking coal import traffic through all major ports in the country in the April-June period of the fiscal year 2023-24 has been provisionally estimated at 14.987 million mt, up 8.44 percent year on yera, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Thursday, July 6.

As per the calculations of SteelOrbis, inward shipments of coking coal in June this year came to 4.867 million mt, compared to 5.548 million mt in May.

According to the IPA data, total iron ore freight traffic through all major ports, including pellets, during the April-June period were estimated at 13.933 million mt, up 13.84 percent year on year.
