India’s coking coal import traffic at ports up 10% in April-July

India’s coking coal import traffic through all major ports in the country in the April-July period of the current fiscal year 2023-24 has been provisionally estimated at 20.162 million mt, up 10.46 percent year on year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Monday, August 7.

As per the calculations of SteelOrbis, inward shipments of coking coal in July stood at 5.175 million mt, against 4.867 million mt in June.

Total freight traffic of iron ore including pellets was recorded at 18.368 million mt in the April-July period, up 30.18 percent year on year, the IPA data showed.
