India’s coking coal port import traffic up 6.1 % in April-September

India’s coking coal import traffic through all major ports in the country in the April-September period of the fiscal year 2023-24 has been provisionally estimated at 30.04 million mt, up 6.14 percent over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, according to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Friday, October 6.

As per the calculations of SteelOrbis, inward shipments of coking coal in September worked out at 4.54 million mt, lower than 5.34 million mt in August.

Total freight traffic of iron ore including pellets has been provisionally estimated at 26.114 million mt in the April-September period, up 34.12 percent year on year, the IPA data showed.
