India’s JSW Steel Limited has reported consolidated crude steel production of 6.35 million mt in the first quarter (April-June) of the fiscal year 2024-25, up a marginal one percent over the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, according to a regulatory filing by the company on Wednesday, July 10.

The company attributed the slower growth in output to scheduled maintenance of mills during the quarter.

However, despite the lower production, the company operated its mills at an average utilization level of 87 percent during the first quarter, the company said.
