India’s mineral output increases by 4.6 percent in February

India’s mineral production in February this year recorded a growth of 4.6 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year, a statement of India’s ministry of mines said on Thursday, May 11.

Cumulative growth in mineral output in the April-February period of the fiscal year 2022-23 was recorded at 5.7 percent year on year, the statement said.

Important minerals showing positive year-on-year in February this year were phosphorite 60.2 percent, coal 8.3 percent, iron ore 7.4 percent, lead concentrate 7.3 percent, natural gas 3.2 percent, zinc concentrate 1.1 percent, limestone 0.9 percent, and copper concentrate 0.5 percent.
