The Iranian Steel Producers Association has announced Iran’s steel export data for the first three months (March 21, 2023-June 22, 2023) of the current Iranian year.
In the given period, Iran’s total steel exports rose by 37.0 percent year on year.
In particular, in the first quarter the country’s beam exports grew by 106.3 percent year on year to 66,000 mt, while its rebar exports reached 800,000 mt from 674,000 mt recorded in the same period of the previous year. Iran’s billet and bloom exports amounted to 1.45 million mt, down by 10.5 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, sponge iron exports moved down by 65.1 percent year on year to 58 million mt, while hot briquetted iron (HBI) exports came to 58,000 mt, down by 65.0 percent from the same period last year.
In addition, in the first three months of the year, Iran’s slab exports totaled 646,000 mt, up by 10.6 percent year on year, while its coated steel exports dropped to 2,000 mt from 28,000 mt recorded in the same period of last year.
Iran ranked seventh in world steel production in June this year.
