Japanese auto output down 5.8 percent in January

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in January this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 732,886 units, decreasing by 44,870 units or 5.8 percent compared to the same month of 2015.

Domestic automobile sales in January of the current year in Japan stood at 382,876 vehicles, down 4.6 percent as compared with the same month of last year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in January amounted to 335,556 units, down by 6,316 units or 1.8 percent year on year.
