Japanese auto output up 1.7 percent in May

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in May this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 656,814 units, increasing by 11,275 units or 1.7 percent compared to the same month of 2015.
 
Domestic automobile sales in May of the current year in Japan stood at 331,587 vehicles, down 1.2 percent as compared with the same month last year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in May amounted to 302,682 units, up by 13,205 units or 4.6 percent year on year.
