Jonob Steel commences trial billet production

The Jonob Steel complex, located in the economic zone of Khalije-Fars which is 15 km west of the main southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, commenced its trial production of billet at the beginning of September.

The plant, the construction of which is spread over four phases, will formally inaugurate its first phase-production of billet in two months' time.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Jonob Steel will be put into operation in four different phases; including 200,000 mt per year of billet production in the first phase, 200,000 mt of debar and beams per year in the second phase, 800,000 mt of sponge iron per year in the third phase, and an increase in annual billet output from 200,000 mt to 800,000 mt in the fourth phase.
