Jonob Steel to start billet production in Sept.

The Jonob Steel complex, located in the economic zone of Khalije-Fars which is 15 km west of the main southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, is to commence production of billet in September with an initial annual capacity of 200,000 mt.

The plants has been built with 51 percent of investment coming from the Iranian private sector and 49 percent from Indian investors. 

The construction of the new mill will be spread out over a total of four phases: including 200,000 mt per year of billet production in the first phase, 200,000 mt of debar and beams per year in the second phase, 800,000 mt of sponge iron per year in the third phase, and an increase in annual billet output from 200,000 mt to 800,000 mt in the fourth phase.
