NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices down 0.2 percent in mid-October

In mid-October (October 11-20) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar decreased by RMB 6/mt ($0.8/mt) or 0.2 percent to RMB 3,679.4/mt ($512.5/mt), compared to prices in early October (October 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, medium plate, hot rolled coil (HRC), seamless steel pipes and angles declined by 0.3 percent, 1.1 percent, 1.2 percent, 0.1 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively, all compared to early October.
