UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that it will supply an Arvedi ESP (endless strip production) line for Chinese steel producer Henan Yaxin Steel Group Co., Ltd. (Henan Yaxin). This new line will be part of Henan Yaxin’s new steelmaking facility currently under construction in Fuding City, Fujian Province. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in 2020.

Primetals stated that the Arvedi ESP line has a design capacity of 1.6 million mt per year with the potential to produce 2.5 million mt per year later. It is capable of rolling high-quality, ultra-thin, hot-rolled strip products with widths of up to 1,600 mm and thicknesses down to 0.8 mm, which will enable Henan Yaxin to enter new market segments. Compared to conventional casting and rolling processes, energy consumption and the related costs are reduced by up to 45 percent. This also results in a major reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, minimizing environmental impact.
