Romania-based ArcelorMittal Hunedoara commissions new rolling mill

Thursday, 12 July 2012 12:05:20 (GMT+3)   |

Global steel giant ArcelorMittal has announced that its Romania-based subsidiary ArcelorMittal Hunedoara has started commercial production at its new rolling mill, following a €43 million investment.

The new rolling line will replace the one used before the modernization project and will have an estimated annual production capacity of 400,000 mt.

ArcelorMittal Hunedoara is continuing modernization projects for its Hunedoara Long Carbon unit, despite the challenging economic situation, in order to improve the quality of the products and extend the product portfolio.

Following this investment, ArcelorMittal Hunedoara is now producing both current profiles (such as UPN, IPN), new profiles (Euro profiles IPE, UPE and H) and round rolled bars.
