In Sweden, seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.4 percent in June this year compared to May, and was up 1.1 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). New orders for Swedish industry decreased by 0.2 percent in seasonally adjusted figures in June compared to May. In June, new orders decreased by 1.9 percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to the same month of the previous year.
In June this year, new orders for basic metals in Sweden increased 5.8 percent compared to May and were down one percent year on year, mainly driven by the 10.2 percent decrease in domestic orders. Meanwhile, new orders for the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, increased by 9.1 percent in June compared to the previous month and were down 2.9 percent compared to June 2011.
On the other hand, in June this year Swedish basic metal output decreased slightly by 0.1 percent month on month and was down 1.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the month in question, the country's manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment output, rose by 3.1 percent compared to the previous month and by 1.4 percent year on year.
