In Sweden, industrial production increased by 2.1 percent in January this year compared with the same month in 2011, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB).
In January this year, basic metal production in Sweden decreased 0.9 percent compared to the same month of 2011, while it rose 5.1 percent compared to the previous month. On the other hand, Swedish manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased its output by 1.7 percent in January compared to January 2011, while a 2.5 percent month-on-month decrease was observed.
On the other hand, new domestic orders for the Swedish basic metal industry increased 6.9 percent in January this year compared to the last month of 2011 but were down 8.7 percent year on year, while new export orders decreased by 0.3 percent month on month and were down 9.1 percent compared to January 2011.
In the month in question, in Swedish industry, for manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, new domestic orders increased by 8.3 percent compared to the previous month and were up 3.5 percent year on year, while export orders fell by 16.9 percent from December and were up 1.1 percent compared to January 2011.
