In Sweden, industrial production decreased by 0.4 percent in July this year compared to June, and fell 5.2 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). SCB said that the increase in June was followed by a marginal decrease in industrial production in July. On month-on-month basis, new orders for Swedish industry registered a slight increase of 0.3 percent in July. In July, new orders increased by 0.6 percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to the same month of the previous year.
On the other hand, the production index for the Swedish basic metal industry increased 4.1 percent in July this year compared to the previous month, while in July the production of the country's basic metal industry increased by one percent year on year. The country's manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment output, decreased by 14.4 percent compared to July 2012.
On the other hand, in July new orders for basic metals in Sweden increased 9.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, supported by the 18.2 percent rise in domestic orders. Meanwhile, new orders for the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 13.2 percent in July on year-on-year basis.
