According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in May this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.54 billion, up 14.8 percent compared to May last year and risng by 5.4 percent compared to the previous month. In April, Taiwan’s basic metal and basic metal product orders had recorded a 13.3 percent decrease month on month.
In the January-May period of the current year, the country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders increased by 18.1 percent year on year to $12.52 billion.
