Turkish specialty steel producer Asil Celik A.S. (Asil Celik) has announced its financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2014.
Asil Celik reported a net profit of TRY 10.55 million ($4.9 million) for the second quarter, compared to a net profit of TRY 3.9 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Sales revenues of the company increased by 69.6 percent year on year to TRY 201.1 million ($93.3 million). The company registered an operating profit of TRY 14.6 million ($6.7 million) in the given period, up 183.6 percent year on year.
In the first half of the current year, Asil Celik's net profit more than quadrupled to TRY 31.3 million ($14.5 million), compared to the same period of 2013, while the sales revenues of the company increased by 62 percent year on year to TRY 396.3 million ($183.9 million). Asil Celik's operating profit in the first six months amounted to TRY 42.5 million ($19.7 million), rising from TRY 11.4 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
