Turkey-based rebar producer Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi A.S. (IDC) has announced that it has started commissioning of its medium section mill as of January 3, 2013.

Following research aimed at removing its dependence on a single product, the company decided to carry out a €30 million medium section mill investment. In September 2012, IDC stated that equipment installation and testing were underway and that the investment was scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012.

The medium section mill funded by equity capital will produce 400,000 mt of medium sections per year.
