Turkish steel mill Isdemir, a subsidiary of Turkish integrated steelmaker Erdemir, has announced that it is targeting a flat product output of 100,000 mt for the month of August.

Speaking to SteelOrbis, a company spokesman said that, due to the sluggish demand for steel products caused by the global financial crisis, Isdemir had been unable to effectively operate its hot rolling mill, which was commissioned in August 2008, and instead the company had met demand from its stocks. However, the company has now increased its output target for August in line with rising demand, the spokesman added.

The annual production capacity of the plant's hot rolling mill is 3.5 million metric tons.
