Turkey’s pig iron imports up 34.8 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's pig iron imports amounted to 134,782 mt, up 0.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The total value of Turkey's pig iron imports in the given month increased by 5.6 percent year on year to $53.1 million.

In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's pig iron imports increased by 34.8 percent to 1.13 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $443.13 million, up 49 percent, both year on year.

In the January-October period, Turkey imported 667,577 metric tons of pig iron from Russia, up 25.13 percent year on year. Russia ranked first among Turkey's pig iron import sources in the period in question, followed by Ukraine which supplied 280,278 mt, up 76.28 percent year on year.
