In January, rebar exports accounted for 47.75 percent of Turkey's total steel product exports, while billet exports constituted 17 percent, exports of steel pipes and fitting parts made up 8.3 percent, exports of steel section constituted 8.25 percent, wire rod exports accounted for five percent and flat steel exports accounted for 4.1 percent.
In January 2012, Saudi Arabia was Turkey's largest destination for steel exports, receiving 259,927 metric tons, almost quintupled year on year. Turkey's steel product exports to the US and Singapore also saw significant increases.
