In October this year, Turkey’s cold rolled coil (CRC) imports amounted to 52,631 metric tons, down by 30.2 percent compared to September and by 47.3 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $39.36 million, decreasing by 31.8 percent compared to the previous month and by 48.5 percent year on year.
In the January-October period, Turkey's CRC imports amounted to 629,631 mt, down 18.5 percent, while the value of these imports fell by 21.5 percent to $487.34 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey’s largest CRC import source was South Korea, which supplied 177,464 mt. South Korea was followed by China with 153,567 mt and Russia with 129,509 mt.
