UK basic metal output index down three percent in August

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in August this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing increased by 0.5 percent compared to August last year and was up by 0.2 percent compared to July. According to the ONS, in the June-August period of this year, the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing fell by 0.4 percent quarter on quarter and increased by 0.6 percent compared to the same quarter of last year.
 
Meanwhile, in August the production index for basic metals and metal products decreased by three percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
